Tamales are an everyday or night delight in Mexico City but a tradition for us to enjoy on February 2nd. This will be the day when the Catholic Mexican celebration of Christmas is over, when people take baby Jesus to be blessed by the “Padrinos” who got the baby in their slice of rosca and then celebrate by treating the party with tamales. The truth is Tamales do not need an excuse to be enjoyed with family, friends or yourself. New year, new line of products beginning this Saturday and Sunday we will have tamales and atole in regular basis for you to enjoy.

The Three Wise Men Day Dia de los Reyes After New Year’s Day, Mexican families still have a very special date to commemorate and enjoy. On January 6 we celebrate El Dia De los Reyes, the Epiphany, remembering the day when the Three Wise Men following the star to Bethlehem, arrived bearing their treasured gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh for the Baby Jesus. A couple of days earlier, the children write their letters to the Wise Men, asking for the presents they would like to receive. During the evenings on January 6th after the celebration we enjoy a gathering with hot chocolate or atole and share a rosca de reyes who will twll the people in charge of making tamales for Calendaria day on February 2nd. by finding a figure of baby Jesus inside your bread.
